As Tax Manager focusing on mergers and acquisitions (M&A), you will be involved in all aspects of the M&A process. You will work closely with other Tax team members as well as the Corporate Development, Legal, Treasury, Accounting and Finance departments. Depending on your career goals, you will also have opportunities to become involved with federal, international, or state/local special tax projects. The successful candidate will primarily focus on the following:

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Managing tax due diligence for acquisitions and investments
  • Providing tax advice on structuring acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures, etc.
  • Reviewing purchase agreements, legal agreements and other relevant agreements from a tax perspective
  • Conducting technical research and providing advice with respect to tax issues
  • Successfully collaborating with other functional tax groups and other corporate functions
  • Managing teams while growing and developing less experienced team members
  • Participating on other tax items including but not limited to the review of tax returns, tax provisions and other tax projects

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years tax experience in a public accounting firm, law firm or equivalent experience in a large corporate tax department (advanced degree may substitute for some experience)
  • Ability to prioritize assignments and manage workload within statutory and internal deadlines
  • Solid analytical and critical thinking skills with a pragmatic approach to resolving issues
  • Solid computer knowledge and skills including intermediate proficiency with MS Excel
  • Full COVID-19 vaccination is an essential job function of this role. Candidates located in states that mandate COVID-19 booster doses must also comply with those state requirements. Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent
  • Ability to use pertinent data and facts to identify and solve a range of problems within area of expertise
  • M&A and/or other transactional income tax experience
  • Strong online tax research skills
  • Excellent organizational and verbal/written communication skills
  • CPA or graduate tax degree
  • OneSource or equivalent income tax compliance software experience
  • ASC 740 (Income tax accounting) experience
  • SSAP 101 (Insurance tax accounting) experience
