APX Construction Group is a growing, Minnesota-based company, that offers a single point of contact to clients for general contracting, construction management, design-build services, and facility maintenance. The Senior Project Manager will oversee a wide variety of commercial construction projects from beginning to end. This individual will provide overall leadership direction to the project, including management of project quality, timeliness, safety, and supervision of the project team.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Functions as the main point of contact with the owner and on-site representative
  • Execute and manage subcontract agreements
  • Plans and manages project budgets and schedules; makes necessary adjustments
  • Conducts key customer service visits throughout the project, from pre-construction meetings to close-out, ensuring project commitments are met and issues are resolved
  • Provides direction to the project team to complete projects safely and on time in commercial, industrial, or civil construction
  • Obtains the appropriate permits and licenses
  • Identifies opportunities for performance improvement and process redesign
  • Determine the necessary equipment, materials, and manpower needed
  • Keep track of inventory, tools, and equipment
  • Prepare reports regarding job status
  • Conduct site checks to monitor progress and quality standards


Minimum Qualifications

Education/Experience


  • 7+ years of experience as a construction project manager or in a similar position in construction management
  • Experience in the hospitality industry a plus
  • OSHA training preferred
  • Valid driver's license


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to read, understand and implement project plans and documents
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
  • Proven communication skills; both written and verbal
  • Aptitude to anticipate problems and identify solutions
  • Supervisory experience managing and fostering a successful project team
  • Highly organized with a precise attention to detail
  • In depth knowledge of the construction industry


Physical Requirements

Required to sit for long periods of time; stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, stoop.

Environment

Work is performed indoors, in an office setting, mainly seated. Travel required for on-site project visits weekly or as needed.
