Thermo King is hiring a self-motivated, collaborative Engineering Project Lead to lead and manage critical product design improvements and source for changes in projects/programs. This Engineering Project Lead will lead and/or support new product development and sustaining product development projects by applying Engineering principles and technical rigor to develop solutions that satisfy product requirements, cost, quality and schedule. This individual will lead and support cross-functional project teams to align product requirements, develop solutions, direct validation activities, and support team members to implement solutions in production. This position is located in Minneapolis, MN and has the option to be onsite or hybrid.

Responsibilities
  • Act as a Project Manager and work cross-functionally to generate, evaluate, analyze and develop design concepts for mechanical components and assemblies to meet product requirements provided by Product Management.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of engineering designs, drawings, documentation, and Bill of Materials.
  • Maintain orderly project records. Analyze, condense, and present data results and recommendations.
  • Develop and lead project plans, prioritize tasks, and write clear technical requirements in collaboration with product development teams and suppliers, and present materials in formal and informal environments.
  • Develop DFMEA and DVP (design verification plan), execute test plans, and analyze and summarize test results.
  • Conduct design reviews, provide status updates to stakeholders, and present projects to leadership for approvals as part of phase gate process.
  • Exercise technical project management principles to achieve project quality, cost and schedule targets.
  • Provide guidance and leadership to lab technicians and other team members.
  • Author lab test plans, conduct testing, analyze and interpret results and execute design updates based on the results.
  • Domestic and international travel (up to 10%) may be required.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or other closely related degree and at least 7+ years' experience in engineering or product development is required.
  • Master's Degree in Engineering is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with product development phase/gate processes.
  • Experience developing new concepts, conducting feasibility studies, and developing and executing validation plans.
  • Knowledge of refrigeration system technologies, thermodynamics and fluid dynamics is preferred.
  • Ability to quickly and efficiently understand, condense, and organize information to make informed engineering decisions.

Base Compensation Range is $73,500 to $151,000.

Disclaimer: This base salary range is based on US national averages. Actual base pay could be a result of seniority, merit, geographic location where the work is performed.
