Summary

CHS has an exciting opportunity in our Global Grain and Processing Group. We are looking for a Senior C ontrols Engineer to join our growing team. You must be a self-starter, organized and detail oriented with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written and able to work well independently.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, document and troubleshoot process control PLC's, computers, servers, networks and programs for all Oilseed Processing facilities.
  • Participate in the selection and installation of process controls and computers with interface to control instrumentation.
  • Create and maintain plant data collection and reporting systems.
  • Program Allen Bradley/Rockwell PLC's in ladder logic and using AOI's, create and maintain equipment tag database and configure HMI screens.
  • Maintain documentation and records for the process control and computer systems.
  • Understand and draw electrical wiring diagrams.
  • Collaborate and work with outside vendors, contractors, production and engineering.
  • Provide on call 24/7 after-hours support on an as needed basis.
  • Perform work in a combination of both office and industrial environments depending on project needs.
  • Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.

Minimum Qualifications (required)

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in computers, electronics and PLC's with a full understanding of interface between field instrumentation, PLC's and computer

Additional Qualifications

  • Experience with Rockwell Historian/OSI Pi, PTC Thingworx and VantagePoint data collection and reporting systems
  • Experience with other controls systems including DeltaV and Foxboro
  • Experience with SQL database administration
  • Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio and .NET programming
  • Experience with field instrumentation, AutoCAD and Allen Bradley PLC programming
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to travel up to 30%
