Flint Hills Resources Pine Bend, LLC seeks a Senior Process Engineer for its Rosemount, MN location.

JOB DUTIES:

Provide process engineering and technical support to plant operations and capital projects for production units on site. Define process safety, environmental, and economic risk positions. Gatekeep process safety. Identify unit production opportunities. Implement plant improvement projects with a project team. Drive innovative data analysis and solutions. Serve as a lead participant in Process Hazard Analysis studies and other process safety related activities (MOC/SDR/PSI development/execution). Provide project engineering support, including Process Design. Apply in-depth knowledge of simulation software and hydraulic calculations. Conduct Protection Analysis, Quantitative Risk Analysis, and Process Hazard Analysis engineering. Assess and monitor the performance of common industrial process equipment. Ensure compliance with safety standards. Troubleshoot process engineering problems. Apply API520/521 Relief.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Employer requires a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field and eight (8) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience providing process engineering support for petrochemical plant operations.

Employer also requires:

8 years of experience with common industrial process equipment related to production or refining including large-scale heat transfer equipment, mass transfer equipment, separation technology equipment, fired heaters, reactors, fixed piping systems, instrument, controls, and analyzer technology equipment;
8 years of experience as process engineering operational support for common industrial process operations related to production or refining such as industry specific crude oil conversion to high value fuels production. This support includes troubleshooting existing equipment and system failures to meet functional expectations, optimizing existing systems to meet lifecycle, yield, energy demand and other operational related targets;
7 years of experience working with hydraulic calculations;
5 years of experience working with process simulations software such as Aspen Plus, Hysys, EDR, ProSim, Superchems, etc.
5 years of experience applying data manipulation software such as SEEQ or PI to refining process equipment;
5 years of experience supporting projects for a production facility, including process design basis, equipment sizing, procedure development, integration with operations, training, start-up support, and documentation;
4 years of experience interfacing with operations personnel;
3 years of experience working with Process Control fundamentals including strategies of manipulation of control variables applying local (PLC), distributed/remote (DCS), advanced (APC), and application of a wide range of instrumented control strategies to maintain operating envelope as well as emergency responses and safety instrumented systems;
2 years of project management experience; and
2 years of experience performing economic and marginal analysis of proposed design alternative to meet project objectives.
