You will be part of a group of highly committed professionals that design, test, and validate products from concept to manufacturing to market, providing expertise to ensure the success of complex engineering projects and programs.

The Mechanical Engineer I position is responsible for the development and improvement of electro-mechanical products and processes related to building management system such as actuator, valves, thermostats, and controllers. The position reports to the Mechanical Engineering Manager, and will work with the Mechanical Group and interact with related departments for experimental investigation, prototyping, final design, and release to manufacturing of new and improved products.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Analysis and design of mechanical components, including material selection and required fabrication and assembly methods for current and future products
Technical organization and conduction of projects encompassing the design, analysis, evaluation, modification and fabrication of mechanical and electro-mechanical assemblies and components
Independent investigation of complex technical problems including testing and the design and implementation of appropriate solutions
Work with new product development teams from concept through production launch, ensuring that the functional requirements and technical specifications are integrated in each product with consistency
Support manufacturing and field personnel with insightful analysis and problem solving to resolve issues.
Generate and execute value-engineering activities to drive cost down or improve manufacturability of new and existing production lines.

YOU MUST HAVE

B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering
2+ years within a manufacturing environment focusing on product development, R&D, and sustaining engineering.
1 year experience with design for plastic injection molded, sheet metal fabrication, sintered metals, die cast alloys, machined components, and various metal forming methods
1+ year proficiency with CAD modeling, FEA and CFD analysis tools (Creo and ANSYS preferable)

General knowledge of printed circuit board construction and manufacturing
Experience in reliability analysis and testing
Utilize Six-Sigma methodologies and tools to analyze and troubleshoot issues
Mechanical tolerance stack analysis, documentation, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and in a cross-functional team, including as a leader of small teams
Ability to manage and complete multiple assignments with minimal supervisions
Strong knowledge of fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, heat transfer, mechanisms, mechanical vibration, mechanical tolerance stack analysis, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
Experience in the following areas is required:
Different types of motors, construction and function: Brush DC, BLDC, AC Synchronous, Stepper, etc.
Kinematic assemblies and other components for pneumatic, hydraulic, and electro-mechanical actuation equipment
Knowledge of design to cost (DTC) and design for manufacturability (DFM) methodologies.
