Summary

The Associate Security Officer is responsible for providing a safe and secure work environment for employees, contractors, and visitors; protect member information, and company assets. This position provides 24/7 security at their designated location through alarm dispatches, assigned shift duties, and patrols of the building and outside surrounding areas. The Associate Security Officer must be able to take direction well, work independently and remain calm

* Shift Hours: Monday - Friday 2:00pm - 10:00pm

* The Associate Security Officer will be required to work one weekend per month (8:00pm - 8:00am). Additional days off will be given to accommodate the weekend worked.

Job Description

Job Duties and Responsibilities

+ Primary duties and responsibilities include: responding to life safety and security alarms, receiving and prioritizing telephone calls, operating multiple computer systems and communication equipment, preparing documentation, report writing, maintaining records, and performing additional tasks as assigned.

+ Secure premises by watching a CCTV system or patrolling Thrivent Financial property, securing doors and access points, inspecting buildings for vandalism, suspicious activity or persons and look for safety and fire hazards.

+ Remain prepared to respond to emergencies or other situations within the scope of security responsibilities, be able to perform life safety duties.

+ Communicate in a manner that is open, honest and responsive in all situations; Serve as an informational resource regarding the facility and surrounding area as requested by visitors, employees, contractors, and vendors.

+ Answer phone calls and provide assistance to employees, contractors, and visitors by either letting them into our parking lots or into one of our building entrances.

+ Treats each customer with care by: Actively listening, Clarifying purpose, Communicating in a clear, concise, and positive manner, Providing timely solutions

+ Provide support and assistance to other units within Corporate Security & Business Resilience, and the company when needed and maintains confidentiality of department documentation and issues.

+ Conduct escorts for employees, contractors, vendors, and visitors.

+ Coordinate and maintain visitor information as needed and ensures security procedures are followed for access into our facilities.

Required Job Qualifications

+ Minimum age 18.

+ Valid Driver License.

+ High School Degree.

+ Customer service, security, or military experience.

+ Able to pass background check.

+ Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.

+ Able to speak and write English fluently.

+ Ability to handle multiple tasks and maintain a high quality of work while experiencing frequent interruptions.

+ Requires the obtaining and maintaining of Central Station Alarm Association Central Station Operator I certification within 1 year of employment.

+ Willingness to complete and maintain First Aid, CPR, AED, and other advanced training certifications with the ability to perform CPR for at least 30 minutes, quickly climb 3 flights of stairs, climb a 6' - 8' ladder, walk for extended period of time.

+ Willingness to successfully complete department Training Program within 60 days of employment and maintain training status via yearly recertification of skills testing

+ Understands and can articulate the use of force continuum.

+ Assist or conduct weekly and monthly audits of security and life safety equipment and systems.

+ Detail-oriented and agile in learning multiple procedures and computer applications.

+ Maintains confidentiality of department documentation and issues.
