The Associate Director is responsible for supporting the Regional FP&A team in the financial performance of the overall Pacific Northwest Region (Washington & Oregon). The Associate Director will provide direct support to the Director of Finance in areas that include, but are not limited to monthly financial reporting, budget / forecasting cycles, business and system integration, capital planning, process development, and a variety of ad hoc projects.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate preparation and communication for each quarterly financial forecast
  • Coordinate the quarterly forecasting process, including accurate and timely delivery of the financial plan in line with Optum corporate timeframes and guidelines
  • Partner with business leaders and cross-functional leaders to ensure the financial plan represents the input of the entire business
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts to keep the forecasting and planning process aligned with a changing organization
  • Leverage technology and best practices to drive efficiencies and improved analytics
  • Develop standardized reporting for regional financial review
  • Participate and/or lead a variety of ad-hoc projects

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field (4 additional years of experience can be substituted in lieu of a bachelor's degree)
  • 7+ years of experience in a finance related field
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience
  • Financial modeling experience
  • Experience collaborating with employees at all levels of the organization
  • Advanced skills in MS Excel, MS Office product suite, and other technology tools

Preferred Qualifcations:

  • MBA or CPA
  • Hyperion Essbase experience
  • Healthcare experience
  • Ability to generate innovative approaches and solutions to business opportunities
  • Ability to quickly respond to changing requirements in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Solid interpersonal skills and the ability to influence others
  • Willingness to travel 25% of the time to the Washington/Oregon markets

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $97,300 to $176,900. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $97,300 to $176,900. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
