Position Overview

The Regional Supply Chain Solutions Director role provides strategic, tactical and creative supply chain solutions at a level of penetration that exceeds standard business operating processes. This position directly facilitates supply chain activities in an assigned region as well as assists in the development of internal systems and procedures to serve the ever-growing Digi-Key customer base. Similar to the Supply Chain Solutions Manager, this role works directly with the Assigned Accounts and Business Development team to identify potential Supply Chain opportunities, providing expertise on solution generation.

This is not exclusively an essential onsite role, though may require some onsite attendance. Qualified candidates must be geographically located in the region for which this position operates.

Responsibilities: Must be able to...
  • Perform all Regional Supply Chain Solutions Manager tasks|responsibilities at 'mastery' level; demonstrating expertise in new business development topics & processes at Digi-Key.
  • Work with Supply Chain staff to implement and grow Supply Chain activities at the customer level
  • Implement Supply Chain programs and processes that enable the various Digi-Key sales organizations to meet and exceed the company's sales, profit, service, and quality goals
  • Assist in enhancing training programs to improve customer satisfaction and increase sales proficiencies and to develop a Total Customer Engagement philosophy
  • Monitor Supply Chain metrics to help customers and Digi-Key attain internal and external goals
  • Emphasize team building between the Supply Chain team and the Sales, Order Management, and Purchasing groups to foster a team building focus with other management and staff
  • Manage and monitor internal systems for tracing customer engagement and general Supply Chain performance
  • Continuously identify and assist with closing additional Supply Chain opportunities
  • Develop branding and education for our customers with regard to Digi-Key Supply Chain capabilities including collateral web material
  • Develop and maintain interactive web initiatives for customers
  • Proactive involvement & participation in special projects|process improvement efforts in both work efficiency and partner|customer satisfaction
  • Actively identify, recommend and lead special projects|process improvement efforts that drive mutual growth opportunities
  • Build and enhance relationships with corporate/executive leadership + sales/digital leadership within sales teams
  • Drive acccountability for area specific KPIs|OKRs (e.g. market share, customer count, etc.)
  • Set & meet|exceed individual customer specific goals in yearly customer plans that align to the area KPIs|OKRs
  • Responsible for quarterly communication specific to their area of responsibility
  • Lead the preparation and execution of strategic customer meetings; responsible for action item follow-up
  • Establish relationships with leaders in our customer and partnership communities as well as industry experts and market research executives. Leverage those relationships to create strategic advantages and competitive separation in the eyes of our customers and suppliers that drive measurable results; continuously expanding knowledge of new, upcoming trends and technologies
  • Subject Matter Expert for assigned customers and/or regions; thorough knowledge of strengths, opportunities, competitors
  • Mentor|coach new Supply Chain team members
  • Other duties as assigned including but not limited to possible reallocation of efforts to other organizations per business need and management request.


Other Typical Tasks Include...
  • Taking on additional responsibilities from the Sales Leadership
  • Attend meetings, conferences and/or seminars; gains outside Digi-Key perspective and best practices
  • Lead|participate on cross-functional committees, task forces
  • May participate|lead organizational change initiatives (e.g. process, technology, etc)
  • May participate in the creation of training & documentation of processes as well as the facilitation of training
  • Ability to travel - internationally and|or domestically - minimum of 50%, up to 75% travel

Other duties as assigned including but not limited to possible reallocation of efforts to other organizations per business need and management request.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Minimum/Essential Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree in business or technical field
  • Typically 10+ years of Sales, Marketing, Supplier|Product Management or other related roles
  • Well versed in the various functions of Digi-Key, how they work together as well as the industry Digi-Key operates in, as well as the impact & responsibility Digi-Key has to the community it operates in
  • Strong representative of Digi-Key brand and its principles
  • Demonstrated strong presentation skills for a variety of audiences including executive management/C-Level
  • Demonstrated understanding of basic financial documents and metrics
  • Contractual, negotiating and fiscal management experience
  • Knowledge and familiarity with the electronic component distribution industry
  • Ability to understand and communicate technical requirements and parameters associated with electronic components
  • Must demonstrate the following behavioral competencies; Business Acumen, Critical Thinking & Judgement, Drive for Results
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction
  • Physically located in the geographical territory targeted
  • Professional-Secure Home office environment to perform work functions


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, technical or related field
  • Previous significant experience in supply chain solutions in a distributor or similar environment
