Position Responsibilities

  • Review and maintain standards for MEP (mechanical, electrical and plumbing) and fire protection systems to meet Uline requirements and code compliance.

  • Specify and procure all emergency generators, associated electrical and mechanical equipment. Oversee their delivery, installation and commissioning.

  • Specify and procure all lighting and lighting control systems. Oversee their delivery, installation and commissioning.

  • Review subcontractor change order pricing for appropriate work hours, material quantities and mark-ups.

  • Work with all design engineers on construction projects and coordinate the resolution of any problems that arise.

  • Review all MEP and fire systems shop drawings and submittals to ensure they meet design intent and Uline standards.

  • Review designs related to energy consumption and continually investigate for any energy-saving opportunities.

  • Establish and manage construction budgets for all specified equipment and installations.

  • Work with construction teams to coordinate all schedules associated with equipment receiving, installation and commissioning.

  • Ensure proper processes are maintained for ordering, invoicing, reviewing and approval for all equipment.

  • Work with company sites on equipment upgrades and replacement projects.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.

  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) preferred.

  • 5 - 10 years of experience actively involved in the specification and installation of new building systems.

  • Thorough knowledge of construction techniques and HVAC, electrical, plumbing and fire systems.

  • Knowledge of building, fire life safety, ADA and other applicable codes.

  • Experience with Data Center HVAC, UPS, generator, fire protection and associated systems.

  • Ability to read and understand Architectural, MEP, Structural and Civil plans and specifications a must.

  • Available for travel to Uline's U.S., Mexico and Canada locations.
