Position Information

Description & Details:

Under the cooperative direction of the Director of Men and Women's Track & Field, the essential functions and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to: assisting in the recruitment of qualified student-athletes; organizing and planning practice, communicating with strength and conditioning staff; assisting with equipment ordering, scheduling, meet management, and other duties assigned. Complying with NCAA, Summit League and University rules and regulations. Primary coaching emphasis is on combined events and pole vault.

Advertised Salary:

Commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Strong background in intercollegiate track & field with a skill analysis and technique emphasis in the combined events and pole vault.
  • Thorough knowledge, understanding, experience and commitment to NCAA compliance
  • Experience of recruitment of perspective student athletes
  • Evidence of ability to interact positively with student-athletes, parents, colleagues and the public.
  • Evidence of strong organizational skills.
  • Demonstration of effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated professional behavior .

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Evidence of successful participation as an athlete.
  • Evidence of successful experience coaching in a highly competitive intercollegiate NCAA program.
