This role will be responsible for managing and enhancing Health plan populations who have purchased Optum's market leading Physical Health business, which works with patients and providers to improve the care of individuals with physical conditions. Experience with product development, product lifecycle management, stage-gate processes, and working across functional lines to meet customer expectations will contribute to success in this role. Able to establish product performance expectations, evaluate performance and expand product value. May work with internal or external business constituents to determine product future direction and respond to client inquiries. Includes driving project management work plans as well as working with functional partners: clinical operations, network contracting, sales, and finance.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Actively manage large book of business, working with Health plan leaders to review program delivery and enhancing program design to improve patient outcomes and client value
  • Develop and create new programmatic capabilities to expand market offerings
  • Drive affordability initiatives to increase value and Net Promoter Score
  • Monitor all aspects of the business to proactively identify needed interventions or process changes, assessing and interpreting customer requirements and deliverables
  • Support Product and Clinical Managers in ensuring successful implementation of new clients and/or providers
  • Perform applicable financial analyses to drive product planning efforts (e.g., cost/benefit analysis, revenue potential/forecasts, budgets, membership/volume forecasts)

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, General Management, Economics, Finance, Accounting or related field required; MBA preferred
  • 5+ years product management experience
  • Solid project management skills, including risk and contingency management, ability to manage competing demands and set priorities, and achieve deliverables

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Expertise in working with Health plans
  • Previous experience working in physical medicine, utilization management, or network contracting and management
  • Live within a commutable distance to Eden Prairie, MN

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $82,100 to $146,900. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $90,500 to $161,600. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
