The Design Engineer Combine Engine Installations individual will be responsible for supporting the engineering team as a design engineer at the New Holland facility. This individual will work with the engine installation team in support of CPM, CPI, New Product development and cost initiatives including active participation in a cross functional AGILE team, new product launch activities, and new product development as required.

Responsibilities
Representative Activities:
  • Develop designs, layouts, and drawings in support of the Platform objectives for current product maintenance, quality improvement, cost reductions, CPI design and manufacturing issue resolution support. Support the execution of project plans and schedule consistent with meeting product line objectives.
  • Utilize appropriate engineering techniques and considerations of manufacturing processes and technology to produce innovative and cost-effective design solutions considering applicable safety and environmental regulations and standards.
  • Identify and collect information pertinent to engineering calculations in order to analyze and resolve design problems.
  • Orchestrate development of designs with multiple suppliers and engine manufacturer. Background in engine installation (drivelines, cooling, exhaust systems, fuel and DEF tank designs,) is desirable.
  • Orchestrate change requests, requisitions, work orders, parts lists, laboratory and product evaluation requests and reports.
  • Work effectively with a cross-functional team of individuals on complex problems.
  • Effective communication of issues/ideas/concepts and solutions.
  • Work effectively with the Analysis and Validation teams on the development of validation plans.
  • Work effectively with Supplier Quality/Manufacturing to ensure designs are efficient for manufacturing and able to meet quality requirements.
  • Position Pays $71,000 to $102,000 (Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.)


  • Qualifications
    The qualified candidate must have:
  • Bachelor's or Masters in Mechanical or Agricultural Engineering
  • 2 plus years experience in mobile and off road equipment design is desirable.
  • Must be available to travel to field test or manufacturing site as required (5% or less).

  • The preferred candidate should have:
  • Familiarity with Pro-E, FMEA, Robust Design, FEA, Pugh Concept selection, and test procedures is desirable.
  • Excellent written and oral communicator with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Experience in the use and service of large agricultural equipment is desirable.
