Position overview

The Warehouse Supervisor will support processes related to the Research department.

The ideal Warehouse Supervisor will be able to multi-task effectively and prioritize communication with the breeding team on a regular basis. They will be able to work effectively with a large group of people in order to meet consistent shipping deadlines and trial preparation timelines. Ideally, they would be interested in researching and using innovative online tools to keep track of warehouse stock supply, shipments and seed movements within the warehouse.

Warehouse Supervisor - Preferred Qualifications

?? Degree in Logistics, Crop Science, Plant & Soil Sciences, or equivalent preferred; alternatively, equivalent experience in a role related to plant breeding, research operations, and/or logistics.

?? Previous experience in a plant breeding or seed company required OR Master's Degree in relevant field required

?? People management, delegation, and leadership skills

?? Ability to work without direct supervision in a diverse team environment

?? Bilingual English/Spanish preferred

Warehouse Supervisor - Essential Functions

?? Seed stock management: Responsible for seed data entry and seed flow record-keeping

?? Packaging: Responsible for printing labels and envelopes, packaging seeds, and lineup of 200,000+ research testing plots to ensure critical deadlines are achieved

?? Shipments: Planning, supervision, and execution of domestic and international soybean seed shipments, including all documentation needed for import and export of seeds and equipment

?? Stewardship: Responsible for following stewardship protocols, training, and record-keeping required

?? Crew supervision: Responsible for the direct supervision of employees to ensure the deadlines of the breeding pipeline are achieved.

?? Warehouse organization and maintenance: Responsible for the cleanliness and organization of warehouse space and scheduling maintenance of the equipment related to packaging, shipping, and weighing.

?? Supplies administration: Responsible for quoting, placing orders, and stock management of all needed supplies

?? Ability to delegate and ensure the responsibilities of peers and subordinates are achieved

?? Quality-control focused, mindful of protocols and compliance standards

?? Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills

?? Ability to balance and prioritize tasks during peak times, along with working extended hours when needed

?? Ability to work without direct supervision in a diverse team environment
