ACTIVITY ASSISTANT

Garden, bake, paint, party, laugh. These are just a few things you'll be doing when you join Northwood Deaconess Health Center as an ACTIVITY ASSISTANT. We are hiring one full-time and one part-time assistant to provide social support and compassionate care to long-term residents.

• Plan, prepare, and lead resident activities that may include gardening, arts and crafts, cooking, or games
• Maintain activities records and progress notes; keep attendance records
• Attend resident care plan meetings
• Oversee swing bed activity visits and activities for patients
• Assign staff to do personal visits with residents unable to attend group activities; maintain records and documentation of personal visits made
• Recruit volunteers for activities and steward volunteers
• Assist in keeping the department clean and organized
• Create posters, banners and other signage to celebrate holidays, celebrations, and special events
• Collaborate with coworkers in a team environment

The ideal candidates will be certified nursing assistants who are self-motivated, attentive to detail, and enjoy planning and implementing a wide variety of activities for residents.  Applicants who are willing to become certified nursing assistants are also encouraged to apply. Education assistance is available.
