About the job:

The surveillance technician is responsible for ensuring that the Gaming Commission's surveillance equipment is installed, operational, maintained and utilized correctly.


Here's what you will be doing:

  • Apply systems analysis techniques and procedures to determine hardware, software or system functional specifications of the Gaming Commission's surveillance systems.
  • Assist in training Surveillance staff on surveillance systems usage.
  • Install, repair, or modify surveillance system equipment.
  • Report all equipment necessary for purchase to Senior Technician or Assistant Manager.
  • Repair and log all known malfunctions. Report any malfunction that cannot be immediately repaired to Senior Technician or Assistant Manager.
  • Ensure accurate equipment maps and maintain camera listings.
  • Maintain equipment pursuant to maintenance schedules and operating procedures.


Here's what you will need to be successful:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years of related overall experience, including one year experience in video, low voltage, computer, CCTV, door access, installation and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to obtain required certifications for Ariel Lift Operator, Fork Lift and Pallet Jack Operator, Door Access Control S2, CCTV and low voltage standards BICSI Levels I & II.
  • Knowledge of installing, operating and maintaining door access and surveillance equipment Door access and surveillance equipment repair techniques to include matrix switcher software and hardware, cameras (PTZ and fixed), door access system software and hardware, power supplies, cabling (power, video and data), monitors, cabinetry, racking systems, general computer operations and network switches.
  • Knowledge of computerized door access and surveillance information systems.
  • Skills in problem solving techniques and the ability to assist either in person, by phone or two-way radio.
