GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY:

A Technical Training Specialist is focused on providing internal and external customers, domestic and international, high-quality technical training programs that improve technical knowledge and customer satisfaction. The training specialist is the primary source for adapting existing presentations and developing new programs to improve technical knowledge and reduce warranty costs for all Compact Equipment and products marketed by Manitou Americas.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintain a file/catalogue of existing and new technical training programs to provide a consistent training appearance and message in relation and partnership with other Group technical trainer (Harmonize package)
Develop national training events and curriculum that provides value and knowledge on a world class level for internal and external customers.
Work with Marketing to proactively Market XPRT training and specific training events through the dealer portal, email, constant contact and/or other sources.
Manage Technical training events as assigned. Includes arrangement of all aspects of the event including but not limited to: equipment procurement, menu selection, facilities requirements.
Become the primary source of Technical training programs. Updating and adapting programs for specific domestic or international needs.
Serve as a trainer or backup trainer for Domestic and international events as needed and approved.
Investigate and stay up to date on industry accepted technical training techniques.
With a focus on continuous improvement, investigate and implement new training programs and interactive techniques as time and budgets allow.
Using available company resources, stay up to date with the top technical issues by product to insure that the training is needs based and addresses long term and immediate issues, that also help to reduce warranty costs..
Based on training knowledge, needs and budgets develop training aids to assist in understanding complex systems.
Based on experience and input from other departments and Service personnel develop and maintain a new dealer introductory training program that can be delivered on location by a qualified company representative.
Become the go to person for domestic and international Manitou/Gehl employees requesting technical training programs and assistance.
Review assigned technical service documentation and suggest changes to responsible parties.
Assist in maintaining and internally publishing a comprehensive technical training attendee list.
Develop training assessments to be provided pre and post training events to gauge effectiveness of training.
Stay abreast of manufacturing and assembly issues that may contribute to product quality, reliability, or function.
Assist in developing policy and procedures that encourage external customers attend training events on a regular basis.
Perform miscellaneous other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE:

Must have at least three years of experience as a Technical Service Advisor or equivalent.
Must have experience in a training environment and as a technical trainer/instructor.
Must be familiar with adult training techniques and able to develop and deliver technical instructional courses in person and online.

KNOWLEDGE:

Must have a high degree of knowledge on Compact Equipment or equipment with similar hydraulic, electrical and power systems.
Must be proficient in oral and written communication with an ability to communicate in front of a group.
Must be able to multitask and maintain a high level of accuracy.
Must be able to lead meetings, via telephone conference or in person.
Must be courteous and skillful in working with internal and external customers on the telephone or in person.
Must be proficient with Microsoft office and company ERP software as it relates to their area of responsibility.
Must have a desire to learn new programs and techniques to improve department and overall performance.
Must be goal oriented and focused on continuous personal knowledge improvement.
Must be a self-starter, proactive and solutions oriented.
Must be able to travel as required, maintaining a current passport, credit card and driver's license.

EDUCATION:

Requires a college, vocational or technical education degree.

LOCALIZATION AND TRAVEL EXPECTED:

This position is located in West Bend, WI or can be remote.
Travel up to 30-50%.
