Job Title: Therapeutic Education Manager (TEM)
Direction: Rare Blood Disorders Patient Services
Location: USA - Field Based
Report to: Associate Director, Patient Education
Customers: Patients/Care Partners, Infusion Staff (private offices, clinics, hospitals, and Home Health Agencies)

The Therapeutic Education Manager (TEM) is a key field-based member of the US Rare Blood Disorders Patient Services team. The TEM provides disease and product information and on-going support, when appropriate, to CAD and aTTP patients. The TEM establishes and maintains a strong working relationship with the infusion staff to provide education to ensure a seamless infusion experience for patients. He/she is a subject matter expert on disease state, product, administration and services. The TEM works collaboratively with cross-functional team members to facilitate timely and on-going access to therapy. TEMs must also ensure full compliance with all corporate and industry policies and legal and regulatory requirements, for all field activities.
Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Infusion Site Education (50%)
Educate infusion staff on disease, product, procurement, administration and support services in accordance with approved resources post prescription and/or shipment
Educate home health care providers to ensure they are well-educated prior to treating prescribed patients with approved resources
Develop and maintain account plans to support on-going infusion education. Utilizes CRM to manage territory and record activities
Conducting educational programming with infusion staff utilizing approved resources
2. Patient Assistance (20%)
Ensure the patient is well educated and does not face unnecessary financial barriers or site of care issues to therapy
Communicate any barriers to enrollment and therapy to the prescriber/office staff. Seek to reduce overall cycle time for prescribed patient starts
Collaborate cross-functionally with other field-based teams and case managers to support patient access, enrollment and appropriate adherence to prescribed therapy
3. Patient Education (30%)
Engage with CAD and aTTP patients to educate on disease and product using approved resources
Conduct branded and unbranded patient education programs (live and virtual) for CAD and aTTP patients using approved resources
Support appropriate on-going adherence to prescribed therapy
Identify opportunities to further support the CAD and aTTP communities, including representing Sanofi Genzyme at local patient events
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient engagement within the CRM system
Knowledge, Skills & Competencies / Language:
Strong organizational skills and ability to adapt to change and react constructively in a high-energy and fast paced environment
Excellent presentation skills
Experience with medical and pharmacy benefit products
Empathetic listening skills
Language requirements: English required and Spanish preferred
Qualifications :
BA/BS Degree is required, a nursing or clinical background is preferred; an advanced degree is a plus. The TEM is not the patient's medical processional, however, and must not be involved in care decisions or to provide medical advice. The patient should always be referred to his/her provider for medical advice
Previous commercial and/or clinical experience (hospital or home health) with IV infusions is required
Previous 3-5 years account management skills and/or patient education industry experience preferred
Prior product launch experience preferred
Requirements of the job:
Ability to travel up to 80% within a territory is required; ability to travel to meetings/trainings/programs as necessary - additional travel will be required within the assigned geography
Valid Driver's License
Candidates must complete all fleet safety training and must maintain an acceptable driving record regarding accidents and incidents.
