Job Summary:
This position is tasked with the efficient and safe operation of six different types of packaging equipment. This position is required to maintain accurate and legible production reports. They will load the needed materials onto the machine (stretch film, etc.). Operator will take quality samples, perform quality measurements and assure adherence to quality standards. Operators will handle basic troubleshooting of the various recoil machines, conduct daily preventative maintenance checks, and elevate any issues to the Area Lead if they are not able to address it themselves. Safely operate forklift equipment to move pallets of product to proper location. Operators are expected to be active in our Continuous Improvement program to help make the business more successful.
Shift: 6am-6pm, 4 days on 4 days off
$1000 Welcome Bonus
* Paid out $500 after 90 days, $500 after 180 days
Responsibilities:
* Safely operates assigned packaging equipment by following company procedures to meet production standards
* Verify samples meet product quality standards
* Ensure all products are packaged according to internal and external customer specifications
* Accurately complete required Production paperwork to avoid Order Rejects
* Changes reels and/or carts by following written procedures using manual/electric pallet jack or the electric tugger
* Coordinate and communicate with other packaging operators and Area Lead to ensure smooth operation within the cell
* Maintain work area by keeping all tools and equipment in designated areas, maintaining the 6S standards in their area
* Performs required set-up of recoil equipment, as necessary
* Seeks out opportunities to contribute to the business success through proactive involvement in lean initiatives
Requirements:
* High school education or equivalent is required.
* Basic math skills are required. Basic computer skills are required. Must be able to work a 12-hour shift.
* Manufacturing experience of 1-3 years is preferred.
Certificates, Licenses and Registrations:
* Ability to become certified in:
* Forklift Operation
* Required OSHA Training
