POSITION OVERVIEW

This position is for Surgical Service in the Prep and PACU area. This RN will provide direct patient care and other nursing services to patients and their families before and after surgery/procedures. They follow the standards of AORN and ASPAN. They provide leadership by working in collaboration with medical staff, nursing, ancillary services and other member of the healthcare team in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice in the perioperative setting.

The hours for this position are between 0. Rotating weekend call every 7th - 8th weekend. One call day per week. Rotating holidays. Call response time is 60 minutes.

LOCATION: Aspirus Langlade Hospital - Antigo, Wisconsin

The Registered Nurse is a professional who assumes the responsibility and accountability for the provision of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care provided that incorporates evidence based practice. A key aspect of the work of Nursing is to continually improve the quality of nursing care by collecting and analyzing data.

EDUCATION

Candidates should possess one or more of the following:

Knowledge of patient care standards and practices normally acquired through completion of a nursing program. Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.

Prior Med/Surg nursing experience is desired. A minimum of one year previous experience in PACU or Day Surgery or two years of critical care experience preferred.

Possesses an active Wisconsin RN nursing license.

Current CPR certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.
