Adoption Services Specialist (Woodbury)

Job Purpose : You are a customer-oriented and focused team member who supports the adoption floor and process. You serve as the first point of contact for vendors, visitors, employees, and volunteers in the adoption area.

Location : Woodbury

Schedule : Part-time (up to 24-28 hours/week)

Ideal Shifts

• Friday: 4-8 hours between 11:45a - 8:15p
• Saturday: 9:45 - 6:15p
• Sunday: 9:45 - 6:15p
• Tuesday: 11:45a - 8:15p

Requirements

Flexibility with open availability; must be able to pick up full or half shifts during the week and weekends on short notice

Pay : $16.00/hour

What you will be doing:

Customer Service - Greet and respond to inquiries of both internal and external customers. Actively guide customers through the adoption and holds process. Foster and process merchandise sales goals.

Communication - Listen, pay attention, and be a responsible steward of information. Distill and convey information in a clear, complete, and timely manner in alignment with organizational messaging.

Support - Assist in opening and closing the adoption center, maintaining the merchandise and adoption area, and handling animals and animal related paperwork and items.

Culture - Foster an open and inclusive work environment by modeling AHS's behaviors and values, consistent with the vision and mission of the organization. Champion a culture of safety and promote meaningful volunteer engagement.

What we are looking for:

Schedule - Regular, predictable attendance, punctuality, and availability to work during operational hours as defined by leadership with the expectation to work varied hours including evening and weekend shifts.

Computer Skills - Proficient with computers, specifically, a working knowledge of Microsoft products.

Adaptability - Ability to work in a professional and positive manner with high attention to detail in a variety of situations and the willingness to assist at other sites.

Communication - Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, must have ability to work as a member of the team and partner collaboratively with external and internal customers and departments.

Physical Capabilities - Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Must have a high level of resiliency.
