About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Lead Counsel in its Conduct Risk Management and Internal Investigations section. This team provides legal advice and counsel to Front Line and Independent Risk Management on conduct-related matters, which may include ethics (inclusive of conflicts of interest), sales practices, allegation management, enterprise investigations, internal fraud, and insider threat. In addition, the Section leads privileged, conduct-related internal investigations for the Legal Department, and serves as the legal liaison for the Conduct Management Office's Enterprise Investigations unit.

In this role, you will:
  • Advise senior leaders within the Conduct Management and Conduct Risk Management groups on topics related to employee conduct, providing legal, strategic planning, and risk management advice.
  • Provide legal advice and support on conduct programs (e.g. ethics/conflicts, allegations management, insider threat, sales practices).
  • Provide legal advice and support on conduct-related regulatory commitments, remediation efforts, and program enhancements.
  • Follow and ensure consistent application of Company and Legal Department policies and procedures, including those related to conduct programs
  • Assist with the implementation of planned technology improvements to reduce manual processes
  • Drive operational excellence, including workforce management, time allocation, modernized programs, and professional development.
  • Develop and lead implementation of strategic business initiatives, and lead work team to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives
  • Educate, train, and supervise less experienced attorneys within the Legal department
  • Collaborate with and influence all levels of professionals, including more experienced managers
  • Oversee and take an active role in the education and training of a team of attorneys
  • Engage and influence stakeholders, internal partners and peers associated with the function or affected by its outcomes
Required Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of Law experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • Active State Bar membership or the equivalent in a country outside the United States
Desired Qualifications:
  • Expertise in providing advice to senior business leaders on complex legal issues related to employee and company conduct.
  • Ability to analyze legal and regulatory issues in area of practice and provide effective advice to clients on complex legal matters.
  • Enterprise-level experience supporting corporate regulatory and corporate risk issues
  • Extensive experience conducting research and providing counsel and guidance regarding complex legal issues.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work while handling multiple matters.
  • Ability to work effectively in a complex environment with a high degree of collaboration.
  • Effective in building partnerships, functioning well with project teams, and working for the success of the team
Pay Range

$173,300.00 - $359,900.00 Annual
