Experienced Purchasing Manager - Pay

This full time, permanent career opportunity is for an experience Purchasing Manager at a niche, custom machine manufacturer. Employees are never bored as there is a lot of variety in the products produced. Employees are not bored as the work is not repetitive because the machines are all custom. The company products make a difference to customers. The company supports its employees and employee growth. This position could grow into more of a operations and facilities management role if that is of interest. The duties and responsibilities of the successful candidate will include the following:

• Having a goal of maximizing vendor relationships
• Negotiating with vendors
• Tracking and optimizing purchasing and inventory
• Participating in purchase orders (P.O.) and bills of materials (B.O.M.) creation
• Interacting with vendors, engineering, production, shipping and receiving
• Reading and understanding engineering designs

The background of the successful candidate must include the following:

• A mechanical engineering or related degree
• Six or more years of purchasing experience in a metal manufacturing or fabrication environment
• Experience with Microsoft Office and financial software
• Possess the ability to read and understand engineering drawings
• Possess a solid work history
• Being a US citizen or green card holder
• Having a residence within a 45 minute drive
