!!$1,000 SIGN ON BONUS AVAILABLE FOR NEW EMPLOYEES!!

Part time, benefited position working 40 hours per two week pay period. Days of work are every other Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday with hours of work from 7:00am - 3:00pm. No weekends or holidays.

Certified Nurse Aides provide nursing related tasks and functions under the direction and supervision of the RN, Charge Nurse, and Surgery Manager. Provides a safe, sanitary, orderly, and attractive environment for patients, hospital employees, and visitors. Responsible for repetitive tasks in routine cleaning and patient care within their scope of practice.

Responsibilities

  • Delivers interdepartmental communications, equipment, specimens, supplies and medication as needed.
  • Provides clean patient environment by changing bed linen, cleaning vitals machines, surgery center room chairs, beds and bedside tables, straightening room, and other related tasks as needed.
  • Re-stocks supplies in patient rooms daily.
  • Prepping patient rooms with supplies and equipment needed for patient care.
  • Escorts/transports patients to and from destinations.
  • Retrieve PCU beds for patients requiring an inpatient stay.
  • Delivers patient belongings, clothing and other personal property (including dentures, glasses, contact lenses, hearing aids, prosthetic devices) to the patient care unit when needed.
  • Interacts with patients and visitors of all age groups while performing duties, while following the standards of behavior.
  • Communicates with nursing staff regarding patient's questions, concerns and needs, performing tasks as delegated.
  • Assists in maintaining a safe environment by reporting potential equipment or environmental hazards that are observed.
  • Establishes and maintains interpersonal relationships with patients, visitors and hospital personnel, while assuring confidentiality of patient information.
  • Takes and records temperature, pulse, respiration, weight, and blood pressure and documents appropriately.
  • Answers patient call lights and anticipates patient's needs.
  • Maintains PAR levels in surgery center. (shoes/boots, endo supplies, etc.)
  • Check surgery center/PACU supplies for outdates monthly
  • Attends in-service education programs, as assigned, to learn new treatments, procedures, developmental skills, etc.
  • Cross train to Surgery Scheduler duties.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.


Qualifications

Work requires a high school level of knowledge in order to understand and follow written and oral instruction and to deal effectively with other people.

CNA/NA: Must be certified as a Nurse Aide or have completed course work in nursing or vocational program to satisfy requirement for placement on the ND Board of Nursing Nurse Assistant Registry.

Previous work experience not required. Time to reach competency - five to eight work days.
