Position Overview:
Digi-Key is at the forefront of a brand refresh and the internal creative team is looking for a talented creative writer. This person will craft engaging stories and help lead the effort to bring our verbal identity to life across multiple platforms, channels, campaigns, and everywhere our brand touches customers and internal associates alike. You will be a leader and ambassador for Digi-key's brand voice, not only writing copy, but helping guide the company as we embark on our brand journey. You will make a direct impact on Digi-Key's future branding and marketing efforts.
The Sr. Creative Team Writer reports directly to the Creative Director and is a highly motivated individual with experience in the traditional agency-style format, working with the Creative Director and other designers to develop concepts and associated copy that will support all manner of marketing efforts, from branding, campaigns, video, web and social to internally focused projects and initiatives. Critical to this role is the ability to conceive the big idea and write the associated advertising copy that will grab attention, achieve the desired result, and propel the Digi-Key brand forward.
You will have the opportunity to work and collaborate with other talented marketers and creatives that share a common goal of doing great work in a positive, creative environment.
This is not exclusively an essential onsite role, though may require some onsite attendance.
Remote work may be available in the following states: AZ, AR, CA, ID, IL, IN, KY, MI, MN, NC, NH, NY, ND, SD, TX, WA, WI
Responsibilities:
Must be able to...
- Craft clear, compelling, and error-free content that reflects the company's brand voice.
- Expand upon and build the Digi-Key brand voice and messaging, while becoming our lead storyteller.
- Act as a content brand ambassador for our verbal identity to internal teams and external agency partners, training them to use it effectively.
- Consult and collaborate with other teams to understand their needs while helping define the right content strategy and verbal expression for our various offerings and services.
- Review and evaluate copy, provide feedback and suggestions to bring it into brand alignment
- Develop concepts for marketing campaigns, advertising, internal initiatives, web, social, etc.
- Interpret creative direction and technical information to develop persuasive copy.
- Collaborate with Public Relations (PR), Human Resources (HR), and Marketing departments to brainstorm and develop a variety of marketing materials.
Other duties as assigned including but not limited to possible reallocation of efforts to other organizations per business need and management request

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience (Minimum/Essential Qualifications):
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- 10+ years of experience developing, defining, and implementing world-class writing
- Demonstrate strong conceptual skills and creative problem-solving capabilities
- Demonstrate a command of language, writing, brand identity and presentation skills
- A strong portfolio that showcases your experience and ability to activate world-class ideas and copy across a breadth of compelling deliverables.
- Strong project/creative management and communication skills
- Experience presenting in front of a variety of audiences up to and including Sr. Leadership and Executives
- Must be able to demonstrate the following behavioral competencies: Organizational Awareness, Strategic Awareness, Interpersonal Effectiveness, Learning Orientation, Integrity, Resilience
- May spend the workday sitting at a workstation and operating computer devices, such as, but not limited to keyboard, mouse and screen

Preferred Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree in Advertising, Communications, Marketing, or similar area of study or equivalent, relevant work experience.
