SR Mechanical Designer

This is a high-level design position, often involving segments of complex equipment, mechanisms and/or processes. Position requires developing cost-effective solutions to problems in assigned areas of design or development projects. Contributes to evaluations, conclusions and recommendations on projects within area of specialization. Work assignments have significant impact on project objectives. Considerable creativity and initiative are required. Must display initiative in developing new approaches to solve technological problems. Solidworks experience required.

1) Completes specialized design, detailing and checking of complex mechanisms, processes or equipment

installations with minimum supervision. Ensures that designs conform to national and international

standards as required.

2) Responsible for the mechanical design of machinery and mechanical systems used on machines.

3) Responsible for development, accuracy and maintenance of mechanical drawing packages as assigned,

including layouts, details, assemblies and schematics.

4) Specifies materials, components, heat treatments and manufacturing methods.

5) Assists purchasing, manufacturing, assembly and service with procurement, fabrication, assembly,

debugging and start-up of specific machinery or processes.

6) Provides direction to other designers and drafters as required.

7) Prepares reports and estimates, and participates in design reviews as required. This may involve contact

with equipment vendors, marketing personnel and customers.

8) Responsible for the structuring of bills of material, including information concerning machinery assembly.
