HUMAN RESOURCE GENERALIST

Cameron s Coffee is seeking a Human Resource Generalist to handle all HR matters for a fast growth company. The position will be responsible primarily for recruiting, employee relations and retention, and HR administration.

Cameron s Coffee is a specialty, small-batch Roastery based out of Shakopee, Minnesota with over $50MM in annual revenue. The company is privately held and employs 125 people. Our coffee has one of the most robust and loved portfolio of flavors, blends and roasts. Our beans are sourced from all over the world, including some of the more exclusive coffees like Kona and Jamaica Blue Mountain. All our coffee is same-day roasted and packaged in our 10-year old manufacturing facility.

Cameron s Coffee is embarking on an aggressive expansion phase that requires additional leadership to drive distribution and executional excellence with our sales and DSD partners, brokers and internal team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary purpose of this position is to perform a broad range of HR-related duties on a professional level in the functional areas of (but not restricted to):

  • External recruiting programs, primarily of operational hourly staff, to support growth; new hire orientation and processing (pre/post-employment); assist in establishing clear standards for high performance individuals/teams.
    1. Manage the full life cycle of recruiting top talent, including workforce planning, sourcing, pre-screening, interviewing, background checks, negotiating, offering, drug screening, E-Verify and on-boarding. Manage Temp Agency relationships, including conversion of temp to FTE process with recorded hours to align with earliest start date, and develop new recruiting avenues (i.e., Workforce Center, Job Fairs, etc.).
    2. Conduct in-depth interviews of potential candidates, demonstrating ability to anticipate hiring manager preferences through high offer-to-interview ratios.
    3. Record/manage Hire Date Reporting Hierarchy, Department Assignment, Temp to FTE conversion; Manage Referral Bonus program and Access Card Administration.
    4. Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.

  • Employee relations and retention in labor-competitive marketplace, including continuous refinement of Cameron s employee value proposition of personal growth, assisting the development of training programs, and coaching/counseling/assisting business leaders in areas of employee relations, performance management and discipline.
    1. Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.

  • HR management, including benefits, 401K, payroll/direct deposit, Payrate, PTO Accrual, compliance, workers compensation (including case management if needed), OSHA log, unemployment claims or legal issue resolution and other HR solutions for employees. Follow up on various employment duties such as legal issue resolution.
  • Leadership Team support and other duties as assigned, and Organization Chart management.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Experience required

  • Bachelor s Degree in Human Resource or related field preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in an HR generalist role
  • Experience in sourcing, selecting, recruiting, interviewing, and evaluating a variety of technical and non-technical skill sets, with experience in proactive candidate sourcing from multiple sources (i.e., Internet, advertisements, recruiting agencies, etc.).
  • Experience using standard workplace systems (MS Office) and experience using ADP Workforce Now HRIS is a plus.
  • Is a plus, previous experience managing documentation of workplace injury, OHSA records, and workers compensation claims preferred.

  • High degree of professionalism, integrity and confidentiality; discretion in handling highly sensitive material and information, including maintaining privacy and escalating issues appropriately.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, oral and written.
  • Ability to reason and apply policies/procedures consistently.
  • Accuracy in all matters, particularly in reporting; ability to spot non-matching details across systems.
  • Ability to manage documentation of workplace injury, OHSA records and workers compensation claims.

Ideal candidate has recruiting experience with desire to broaden their HR skills.
