Job Summary

Responsible for coordination of the construction on the biofuel project. Coordinates compliance with the schedule, safety, cost, and quality decisions in conjunction with the Project Field Manager.

Functions in our group include safety, project field management, construction management, quality control, start up and decommissioning and field engineering.

Key Responsibilities

Organize and manage the resources required by the Project. Administer, coordinate, monitor, and report on the Project and activities associated with the Project. Plan, schedule, conduct, and document Project meetings. Provide a focal point for collecting, disseminating, and storing documents and information. Manage Project to meet Project goals and objectives. Recommend action to the Owner related to the management of the design and construction of the Project including interfacing with engineering to resolve design related issues Constructability reviews of the design including participation in model reviews Subcontractor screening focused on potential contractor's construction capabilities, experience, and safety (performance, culture, procedures, etc.) Construction execution planning including finalizing the number of subcontractor scope packages (based on subcontractor screening results) and developing the site layout for temporary facilities, laydown, parking, etc. to enable safe and effective execution at the project site Review and comment on site-specific safety plans for each selected subcontractor (pre- mobilization) based on their own safety programs. Subcontrator site specific safety plans must include pre-mobilization requirements and clearly establish reporting requirements for both leading and lagging safety indicators. Conduct a pre-construction meeting with each subcontractor. The agenda will include establishing communications procedures with Owner and subcontractor; discussing Construction Contract administration procedures; and reviewing schedules and other documents required by the Contract Documents. Prepare and distribute minutes of the meeting. Monitor site safety and promote safe working practices with the subcontractors in accordance with the subcontractor safety program. If the CM identifies gaps or concerning trends, he will work with both the subcontractor and Amp to influence actions to eliminate gaps and reverse adverse trends. Monitoring of construction activities by the various subcontractors working on site and report progress back to on a weekly basis. Will act as liaison between the subcontractors, then landowners, the client and engineering as needed. Will be authorized to make construction coordination decisions regarding project schedule provided such decisions do not impact the project engineering design. Any engineering impact issues will be referred to the home office for resolution. Will monitor the quality of construction in consideration of the quality requirements specified in the relevant construction contract and all applicable national or local codes andstandards. Will coordinate resolution of all quality issues with the relevant construction contractor with the assistance of the engineering home office as needed. Coordinate periodic assurance visits by home office based quality assurance (QA) and safety support personnel and will document and represent the owner for critical inspections and audits. Continue to support project execution through the timely response and resolution of RFIs generated by all construction subcontractors. This will include managing the interface with construction subcontractors, coordinating responses from applicable engineering disciplines, and providing timely responses and any necessary follow-up through closure or the RFI. Assist in the transfer to and acceptance by the subcontractor of any Owner-furnished equipment or materials Facilitate biweekly Project Controls construction status reports from the subcontractors. Review invoices to confirm alignment with quantities installed and milestones achieved.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in construction, engineering or heavy industrial experience preferred, or 3 years of experience at the superintendent level. 5+ years with a degree or 14+ years without degree All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.
