The Grand Forks Herald is searching for an experienced reporter or exceptional recent graduate to join our newsroom as a reporter with likely focus on education reporting, though other beats and coverage areas may be discussed.

The reporter will produce in-depth stories that impact our community and region, along with court reporting of significant public interest. The reporter selected for this position will be eager to play a watchdog/investigative role through interviews, observation, research and analyzing data

We’re looking for a resourceful and energetic self-starter who can manage multiple assignments and write in an attention-grabbing style. In addition, you should be savvy with multimedia and social media platforms, have a knack for writing on topics and issues of interest to our readers, and be able to work with the newsroom’s multimedia teams to present stories in the most effective way possible.

Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field. A background in digital media, newspaper and/or magazine writing, along with photo and multimedia skills, is required. Accuracy and the ability to write clean, crisp copy for multiple platforms is a must. A valid driver's license with a record insurable by the company is required.
