POSITION: Electrician, 100%, University Staff, 12-month, 1 vacancy

DUTIES:    The Electrician installs, maintains, and repairs electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures; ensuring work is in accordance with all relevant codes. An employee in this title definition performs electrician work at the journey skill level, under general supervision of the Facilities Superintendent. Other related duties may also be assigned as necessary. In addition, this position directs and instructs electrician apprentices and/or other assistants.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:

  • High School Diploma
  • Completion of an apprenticeship approved by the Department of Commerce as an Electrician
  • Formal recognition of status by the appropriate international or local trade organization of journeyman status may also be accepted
  • Current WI Master electrician’s license or identification card to meet governmental regulations


This position is currently ineligible for H1-B sponsorship. A qualification for this position includes independent eligibility to work within the United States upon hire date.

SALARY:   Salary is dependent upon the chosen Building Trades Adjusted Hourly Rate.

  • Adjusted 100 Hour Leave Rate: $47.15/hr
  • Adjusted 140 Hour Leave Rate: $46.41/hr
  • Adjusted 180 Hour Leave Rate: $45.66/hr
