Accountant - Controller

Job Description

The Corporate Controller is responsible for overseeing all financial, reporting, and accounting operations in the US, including budgets, strategic planning, monthly closings, quarterly and annual reporting, oversight of the accounting staff and other business initiatives which relate to the accounting functions.

Key Responsibilities:

? Maintain the integrity of the US accounting and financial reporting systems; system improvement strategies, including the overall strategic direction of the accounting department as it relates to the development and management of the best-practices strategy available.
? Oversight of Cost Accounting, Accounts Receivable, and Accounts Payable.
? Manage close process.
? Provide leadership, development, and strategic direction to all of the accounting staff.
? Inform executives about accounting-related activities, opportunities, and recommended actions (specifically revenue recognition principles, capital budgets and regulatory compliance items).
? Coordinate with outside auditors for annual audits.
? Oversee/Manage, SOX compliance, review controls, process documents and review testing.
? Develop and enforce corporate policies and procedures as appropriate for the accounting function and provide interpretation to ensure compliance with US GAAP, SOX and applicable tax guidelines.
? Manage the annual budgeting process as well as monitor actual performance compared to budget.
? Initiate and manage the forecasting and assist with compiling financial analytics, as needed.
? Protect the integrity of the organization's name and reputation by ensuring that the company operates in the most ethical manner possible; react quickly and professionally when ethics and integrity are in question.
? Accept other duties as may be necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of this position.

Education and Experience:

? BA degree in finance, business administration, or accounting.
? 10+ years of professional experience in accounting and finance.
? Previous experience as a Controller and CPA and/or MBA is a plus.
? Supervisory experience in managing a team of 10+ employees.
? Strong accounting skills including cost analysis, reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
? Experience with strong Excel modeling skills.
