Position Information

Description & Details: This position will provide feed mill production and delivery services (67% FTE) to the NDSU livestock units, as well as farm unit support (33% FTE). The feed mill technologist is responsible for receiving inbound feed ingredients, as well as maintaining adequate inventories of aforementioned feed products. Biosecurity, house-keeping, and performing routine, preventative maintenance at the NDSU/NCI feed mill are essential duties for this positon.

Farm unit support duties include assisting with seasonal forage production and spring lambing at the NDSU Sheep Unit. Successful applicant prerequisites will demonstrate the ability to operate farm equipment and work with livestock.

Work Schedule: Full-time, 12-month position

Advertised Salary: $48,000 +/year (DOE)

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to lift 60# bags throughout the day
  • Proficient at Microsoft Excel and Word
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to perform general facility maintenance
  • Ability to learn the operation of a manual transmission feed truck

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Feed mill production experience, processing feed grains, operating a pellet mill
  • Experience operating farm equipment; e.g. tractor, wheel loader, skid steer loader, forklift, grain or feed truck
  • Livestock care and feeding experience
  • Class A driver's license
  • B.S. in an ag-related field
