Title: Global Sourcing, Supplier Engineer

Location: Maple Grove, MN 55311

Duration: 12+ Month Contract (Possible Extension)


Duties:

  • Evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering techniques and procedures on sourced components and supplier manufacturing processes.
  • Acts as liaison between suppliers and BSC production units to execute supplier/BSC initiatives, as well as resolve technical problems
  • Responsibilities, pertaining to EU MDR risk management conversion:
  • Partners with R&D, DA, Supplier Quality, Manufacturing, Quality, Sustaining PM, and Regulatory to execute BSC-initiated changes
  • Reviews component prints, Design FMEA, Test Method Validations, and Process Validations of components
  • Where gaps are identified, work with BSc and suppliers to plan and execute test method validation and process validation
  • Proactively conducts risk assessment on sourced material, executes risk mitigation measures to ensure continuity of component sourcing to BSC manufacturing
  • Plans and executes acceptance activities that are targeted to build quality at the source
  • Plans, schedules, conducts or coordinates detailed phases of the engineering work, projects ranging from small to moderate in scope
  • Assists in process improvements and problem-solving, on-site at supplier facility as needed
  • In every situation, actively recognizes material cost reduction opportunities. Identifies, initiates, and executes material cost reduction projects (MVIP)


Required Qualifications

  • B.S. in Engineering (or Science)
  • 2-5 years of engineering experience


Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of BSC design controls, material controls, risk management, & process controls
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Familiar with problem-solving methods and tools commonly used to investigate component/sub-assy mfg
  • Strong bias for action and results orientation is critical
  • Individualsal must be self-driven and self-motivated to learn and use that knowledge to produce results
  • Previous experience in working with suppliers, component qualification, test method validation, product/process changes/validation
