JOB PURPOSE

As part of the Business Support Services team, the Accounting Manager for Coca-Cola Bottling Company High Country directs the accounting functions of the entire Company. This position is responsible for the preparation of financial analyses of operations, including financial statements with supporting schedules. The Accounting Manager is also responsible for the Company s accounting practices, the maintenance of its fiscal records, and the preparation of financial reports. The position involves supervision and performance of general accounting, accounts payable, and settlement functions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintain the Company s system of accounts and keeps books and records on all company transactions and assets.
Responsible for compliance with all federal, state and local taxes (property, sales/use, payroll, etc.).
Preparation of financial reports including:
Monthly financial statements with supporting schedules.
Direct or prepare internal and external reports as required.
Information Systems:
Participate in planning around information system upgrades.
Participate in application changes.
Evaluate performance of personnel directly supervised.
Ensure validity and accuracy of inventory valuation through analysis, internal audit, and coordination with inventory control, production, and work order processing.
Recommend training for all department personnel.
Recommend and participate in the hiring and removal of department personnel.
Direct training and implementation of accounting and administrative standards for all sales centers.
Provide payroll and payroll taxes approval backup in absence of Director of Finance.
Provide payroll processing backup in Payroll Accountant absence.
Maintain records relating to bank account setups and signatory authority.
Sign checks.
Monitor compliance with established records retention schedule.
Approve payment for accounting invoices.
Prepare correspondence.
Review and submit personal property and sales tax reports to the applicable state agencies.
Review all W9s to ensure customers and vendors are set up correctly.
Review 1099 submission prior to Director of Finance final review.
Oversee and review unclaimed property submission.
Assist in annual financial statement audit responsibilities.
Perform or direct cost accounting functions for purchased and manufactured goods.
Assist in preparation of and implementation of the budget.
Evaluate administrative and accounting operations and make recommendations for improvements in processes to increase efficiencies.
Communicate with co-workers, management and others in a courteous and professional manner.
Provide leadership and guidance to team.
Coach, motivate and develop talent.
Work with leadership team to continuously foster a positive work environment, develop employee incentive programs and establish the organization as a premier employer.
Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions.

ESSENTIAL SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Work with management team to ensure appropriate handling of personnel matters including hiring for open positions, evaluating performance, and taking appropriate actions in the event of under-performance.
Provide strategic leadership and build capability through coaching and development on the company s overall business model, goals and objectives.
Include management staff in planning, decision-making, and process improvement.
Identify and mitigate potential personnel risks.
Requirements:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business with emphasis in Accounting.
Three to five years supervisory experience preferred.
Microsoft Office proficiency including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
CPA designation preferred.
Three to five years of experience in accounting.
Pay offered will depend on candidate s, prior relevant experience, knowledge, skills, & abilities.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Work in an office environment; sustained posture in a seated position for prolonged periods of time; may utilize a computer terminal for prolonged periods of time.
Work involves walking, talking and hearing, using hands to handle, feel or operate objects. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to focus when using computer term

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The noise level in the work environment can be moderately noisy due to manufacturing and/or warehousing equipment in operation.
Must be willing to travel to other company locations approximately 5-10% and attend out-of-town training and/or seminars.
Working hours vary between 5 am and 6 pm depending upon schedules and the season. Typically Monday through Friday. 45 hours expected per week. Additional hours may be required.
