Position Summary

Develop broad comprehensive programs for assessing financial risk, evaluating the organizations internal control structure and evaluating the efficiency and effectiveness of the organization. Plan, organize, and direct department audit activities, including long range and dynamic audit plans, goals, resource allocation, and coordination with external auditors and SOX project management office. Communicate results to senior management.

Essential Responsibilities

• Provide vision, leadership, and strategic direction for the Audit Department. Establish and maintain Audit Department standards and policies, consistent with Corporate policy, to guide the technical and administrative performance of audit activities. Ensure compliance with those policies.
• Develop Audit Department goals, objectives, and key performance indicators (KPI). Develop a long-term and annual Audit Plan. Monitor progress against the audit plan and KPIs; approve plan variances as necessary.
• Maintain business relationships with appropriate levels of management to ensure Audit is aware of changes in business activities and objectives to identify risks.
• Develop the annual department budget and manage department activities to stay within the budget. Evaluate audit activities and results to ensure the efficient use of audit resources.
• Lead execution of IT audit risk assessment and development of IT audit plan, in conjunction with development of the overall audit plan. Direct the execution of IT Audits.
• Coordinate the SOX Internal Audit testing program to evaluate the design and operating effectiveness of management s internal controls over financial reporting. Collaborate cross-functionally across all business functions and IT to identify risks and drive process improvement. Maintain on-going communication with external auditors including alignment on SOX planning, walkthroughs and testing, audit requests, and any deficiency evaluation.
• Recruit talent, participate in workforce planning, establish clear expectations, and effectively manage performance. Provide training, coaching, and oversight to drive employee engagement. Develop a culture of high performance, personal accountability, and continuous improvement.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, other related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least ten years of business experience.
• Three to five years of managerial experience.
• Internal audit experience, preferably with a medium to large institution, or Big 4 assurance experience.
• Advanced degree with CIA, CPA, CISA or other relevant professional certification highly desired.
• Demonstrated experience managing audits within a complex operational and regulatory environment.
• Strong supervisory and time management skills.
• Experience managing a staff of diverse professionals.
• Experience evaluating controls associated with complex business processes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical, organizational and presentation skills.

The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $132,000 to $187,333 per year
