Manufacturing Engineer

Job Overview

For 75 years Rice Lake Weighing Systems has been a successful, growth-oriented company known as a leader in the weighing industry and our community. As Manufacturing Engineer, you ll be a part of a fast-paced, well organized, and talented Electrical Integration team! In this role, you would be providing support to the manufacturing operation and lead the efforts of bringing new products into production.

Duties & Responsibilities

You would be responsible for:

  • Working in cross-functional teams to develop prototype production runs, review/write product specifications and train department supervisors and employees on new product manufacturing
  • Providing design for manufacturing feedback on new product developments
  • Identifying the assembly structure required by manufacturing and communicating it to engineering
  • Creating routings and work instructions for new product developments
  • Setting up new production lines including determining the space requirements and production flow
  • Designing and building tooling as well as identifying equipment needed for production assembly
  • Communicating product issues encountered in manufacturing to engineering
  • Working with quality on non-conforming product and root cause
  • Initiating and executing ECOs for product improvements for manufacturability

You ll also need to be able to:

  • Assist with process improvement, cost reductions, cost containment and value-added issues plant wide either as an individual contributor or within a team
  • Provide specifications or other technical data as required, identify problem areas, develop and apply corrective actions

Requirements

  • Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor s Degree in Manufacturing Engineering or related field
  • In addition, five (5) years of experience in a high-volume electrical production environment
  • Lean Manufacturing tools/techniques and CAD experience required

Additional Skills Needed:

  • Outstanding personal computing skills including Excel, Word, Project
  • Strong analytic and problem-solving skills
  • Good verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills

This position would require on-site presence at our Corporate Headquarters in Rice Lake, Wisconsin; telecommuting is not available.
