The preferred location for this position is any UHG office; telecommuters will also be considered. You ll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute from anywhere within United States as you take on some tough challenges.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Provide financial, analytical, actuarial, statistical, programming, data management expertise for a wide variety of Supplemental Health pricing and/or reserving projects
  • Prepare required regulatory and statutory filings
  • Manage work that is hands - on, project - oriented, self - directed, less structured, and complex
  • Design and/or maintain financial, statistical, and actuarial models
  • Work independently and collaboratively with internal customers to deliver technical solutions that add business value and yield actionable recommendations
  • Drive communications with all key stakeholders

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, economics, computer science, mathematics, or similar quantitative discipline
  • Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) or Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) or the ambition and goal of attaining the Associate or Fellow of the Society of Actuaries designation
  • 3+ years of Actuarial experience including, but not limited to, pricing insurance risk; certifying and filing rates with insurance regulators; building, running, and interpreting models; and/or performing valuation and financial reporting;
  • Advanced or higher proficiency in MS Excel
  • Proven analytical, organizational, and problem - solving skills

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience and /or exposure with Supplemental Health products
  • Experience pricing insurance risk, certifying and filing rates with insurance regulators; and/or building, running, and interpreting models
  • Proficiency with VBA, MS Access, SQL (Structured Query Language), and/or SAS (Statistical Analysis System)
  • Ability to communicate effectively, including written and verbal forms of communication

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $82,100 to $146,900. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $90,500 to $161,600. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
