Our North/Central Minnesota Regionis looking to hire a Market Facing CFO for our Outsourcing-Business Operations (BizOps) Private Industry group. This is fulltime career opportunity, which could operate within the vicinity of any of our North/Central Minnesota offices: St. Cloud, Monticello, Alexandria or Brainerd, MN.

This leader will be the face of CLA s BizOps practice in the community, driving business development, building relationships, and assisting the practice with building an infrastructure of talent to support the growth they drive. In addition to the primary role of business development, this leader will provide BizOps clients with CFO services.

Business Development Responsibilities - Primary:

  • Develop key external business network to grow the BizOps practice.
  • Be known as a BizOps (when applicable, in a specific industry) thought leader both within the firm and externally.
  • Manage internal and external referrals through use of firm customer relationship management software.
  • Interact and coordinate with internal client relationship leaders to grow BizOps services with existing CLA clients seamlessly.
  • Lead proposal writing, and presentation efforts as needed.

Chief Financial Officer Responsibilities - Secondary:

  • Perform CFO functions as part of the client s accounting services team.
  • Frequently partners with client s leadership on operational and strategic issues as they arise, providing recommendations based on financial analysis of projections, cost identification and allocation, and revenue/expense analysis.
  • Oversees longer-term budget planning and cost management. Monitors progress of budgets and presents operational metrics and KPI s.
  • Develops full knowledge of GAAP and deep understanding of financial and operational aspects of their specific industry.
  • Ability to effectively and efficiently manage multiple client engagements.
  • Builds strong client relationships and becomes a key member of client management team.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum of 10 years relative work experience as a CFO, Controller, Accounting Manager, or equivalent work.
  • Experience working with private industry clients/customers.
  • Experience working with small- to mid- size businesses ($10-50M in revenue).
  • BA/BS degree in accounting or related field required.
  • CPA highly preferred.
  • CRM knowledge.
  • Mastery in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, proficient in Outlook and Word. Various accounting software s will be used in client service depending on client size and industry.
  • This position requires frequent local travel to/from client sites and may require occasional non-local or overnight travel for client visits, training, meetings and/or other business-related purposes.
