Madison College is hiring a Transfer Center and Services Director. The Director serves as the primary leader of university transfer processes, advancement, articulation, and services at Madison College. The position coordinates alignment of the priorities of the Academic Plan related to transfer strategy and innovative models for transfer with Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, and Institutional Research and Effectiveness to identify and prioritize new transfer opportunities. The position is responsible for working collaboratively with university partners and Madison College faculty, staff and leaders to develop educational pathways to support successful transfer to and graduation from four-year institutions of our students, particularly those who are first-generation, low-income, and students of color.

The position facilitates efforts to identify college policies or practices that act as barriers to transfer and collaborates with other college leaders to change or eliminate those policies and practices. The position will work with partner four-year institutions to assess and plan for programs and services that support the successful transition of Madison College students to the four-year institution.

  • This is an exempt, full time, 52 weeks per year position. The core hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30pm. The position supports limited remote work, per the current College Remote Work policy, which is subject to change. The position may require limited out-of-state travel.

    Responsibilities Include:

  • Fosters collaboration and provides dynamic leadership related to university and higher education partnerships across the state, nation, and globe to advance transfer opportunities for students. Works in coordination with the Grants Office to obtain grants related to transfer opportunities or assessment.

  • Serves as a subject matter expert for transfer practices, rules, regulations, and accreditation requirements associated with transfer agreements.

  • Manages college/university articulation agreements; including strong cross-college collaboration and effective partnerships in marketing, staff and faculty advising, program faculty, and academic and student affairs leadership.

  • Creates awareness and use of transfer agreements by students, inclusive of the creation of transfer programming and events, educational materials for employees and students, webpages, and other communications.

  • Leads Transfer Center & Services team (hiring, supervision, staff development).

  • Organizes efforts with Academic Affairs and Student Affairs regarding the assessment of individual transfer agreements. Assessing, in part, student participation in agreements and whether existing agreements continue to provide Madison College students with access to quality, four-year educational experiences. Leads Wisconsin Technical College System transfer documentation and approval requirements. Serves as primary contact for transfer-related WTCS education directors.

  • Ensures appropriate record keeping, reporting, data tracking and technology usage (Sharepoint, Peoplesoft, Navigate, Transferology, etc.)

  • Prepares, administers, and monitors annual operating budget for areas of responsibility and maintains required documentation.

  • Maintains a commitment to the college mission, vision and values.

  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Skill in communicating effectively and professionally, both orally and in writing.

  • Demonstrated skill in communications and human relations with populations of diverse socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds and persons with disabilities.

  • Knowledge of college transfer practices, articulation agreements and partnerships, and Madison College and WTCS transfer policies and procedures.

  • Ability to manage staff, budgets and broad external partnerships.

  • Knowledge of college enrollment management and data tools (i.e. People Soft, Cognos, etc.) and transfer tools and resources (i.e. Transferology).

  • Ability to successfully lead project teams and facilitate transfer programs and processes and ability to collaborate with staff, faculty and administrators across the college and district.

  • Ability to analyze transfer programs, student data, and state/national promising practices to identify areas of improvement.

  • Ability for occasional travel to include overnight trips to partners and prospective partners.

  • Minimum Qualifications:

    Bachelor s Degree in counseling, psychology, social work, statistics/applied research, leadership, business, or a related field

    and

    Five years of relevant experience to include: four years of demonstrated experience in higher education transfer activities (advising, marketing/communication, transfer agreement development) in either academic affairs or student affairs, with a minimum of one year experience in leading people and one year of demonstrated experience in planning, developing, and implementing transfer agreements.
