YOUR ROLE

The Shipping Operator is responsible to locate material in warehouse and/or process areas, identify, prepare and ship orders to US Domestic Customers, International Affiliates and Louisville Distribution Center, following domestic and international regulations. This also includes system transactions, loading trailers, trucks, inventory control and housekeeping.
  • Responsible for identifying product, creating delivery and subsequent documentation in SAP P92 & Logos for local, domestic and international customer sales orders based on material availability and due dates of finished goods, raw materials, packaging and samples in accordance with government regulations and customer special instructions as applicable.
  • Responsible to comply with customers due dates and company service goals.
  • Ensure goods are shipped applying the "two pair of eyes" principle.
  • Report shortages, discrepancies and damages upon occurrence to avoid shipping complaints.
  • Calculate pallet loading to maximize cube usage of container (air/ocean), comply with maximum weight rules and consolidate wherever possible.
  • Responsible for following all Federal Regulations, ensure package, labeling and markings for Hazmat material according to applicable regulations.
  • Oversee that all shipments are correctly loaded onto carrier vehicle in a safe manner following the safety regulations.
  • Support and comply with all environmental, health and safety policies and programs.
  • Maintain work areas clean and organized following 5S concept.
  • Perform daily inspections of designated material handler equipment. Follows the checklist to ensure the equipment is in operational and safe condition, alert non-compliance condition to supervisor.
  • Performs various other duties as assigned.


YOUR SKILLS

  • High School Diploma. Associate Degree preferred.
  • Able to read, write and speak Spanish and English - Fully Bilingual desirable.
  • 3-5 years of experience working with hazardous materials
  • Six (6) months forklift and warehouse equipment usage experience.
  • Two (2) years of experience with computer software, preferably SAP, Microsoft Office, Excel, and Word.
  • Six (6) months experience with cycle count procedures.
  • Able to perform basic math calculations (weights and dimensions).
  • Approximately 2+ years of prior shipping experience is required with additional experience in hazardous material for air/ocean freight shipments preferred.
