CNA (CSO) - Surgery

Overview

Part-time benefited position working 40 hours per two week pay period. Days of work are Monday - Friday from 11:00am - 3:00pm with possiblity of some variability. No weekends and no holidays.

Certified Nurse Aides provides a welcoming environment for our patients and guests under the direction and supervision of the RN, Charge Nurse, and Surgery Manager. Coordinates care of the surgical patient and family/support persons.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients/family/support person with a smile and create a lasting first impression for their surgical experience.
• Establishes and maintains interpersonal relationships with patients, visitors and hospital personnel, while assuring confidentiality of patient information.
• Coordinate and track patients and family/support person locations during encounter.
• Provides clean patient environment in surgery waiting rooms between guests.
• Re-stocks supplies (i.e. support pillows, Kala's Korner, etc.)
• Escorts/transports patients to and from surgery center waiting room to destination.
• Interacts with patients and visitors of all age groups while performing duties, while following the standards of behavior.
• Assists in maintaining a safe environment by reporting potential equipment or environmental hazards that are observed.
• Attends in-service education programs, as assigned, to learn new treatments, procedures, developmental skills, etc.
• Performs other related duties as assigned or requested

Qualifications

Work requires a high school level of knowledge in order to understand and follow written and oral instruction and to deal effectively with other people

CNA/NA: Must be certified as a Nurse Aide or have completed course work in nursing or vocational program to satisfy requirement for placement on the ND Board of Nursing Nurse Assistant Registry.
