The Electrical Controls Engineer works on the CEG (Custom Equipment Group) Controls Team to program, upgrade, specify, and maintain all controls for the manufacturing equipment throughout the Marvin facility based in Warroad, MN. This individual will work closely with manufacturing, maintenance, and engineering personnel to design, implement and support the needs related to Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and operator controls. Responsibilities include working closely with vendors, suppliers, engineers, and project teams to facilitate the transfer of new equipment, technologies, and products to the production floor through capital acquisition; as well as, improving machine efficiency and striving to enhance current systems to meet the needs of the future.

Highlights of your role

Investigate projects to understand the scope, working closely with Project Managers or Equipment Acquisition/Designers.
Work with suppliers to specify and select electrical components, design electrical controls, and create drawings and bills of materials.
Assist the Equipment Acquisition/Designer with machine concepts to determine proper control schemes for functionality, flexibility and cost.
Design control systems, use drawings to detail control panels, electrical schematics and control diagrams.
Write equipment description of operation for operator's manuals.
Attend and actively participate in department meetings, trainings, or events.
Provide technical support of electrical controls and programming related issues.

You are a good fit if you have

Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent 4-year degree in a related field required
1-3 years of electrical controls design/acquisition experience
1-3 years of PLC programming or motion control programming experience
1-3 years of experience with text-based coding languages including Python, Java, and C++
Knowledge of AutoCad Electrical preferred
