Position Information

The Research and Creative Activity Office is seeking a team member that will have an active role in developing and maintaining internal application processes, managing the logistics of workshops and seminars, developing reports, researching and distributing grant funding opportunities, assisting with proposals, and providing general support for research development initiatives.

This position will develop a comprehensive understanding of NDSU research capabilities and assist in connecting researchers with funding opportunities and research resources as well as develop a comprehensive understanding of funding agency guidelines and requirements. The position will provide support to proposal development, including review of proposals for compliance with agency requirements and develop resources, tools, training sessions and materials to broadly facilitate aspects of proposal development and writing. The position will coordinate research development events, programming, and training activities, manage the unit budget, coordinate contracted services agreements and manage NDSU's funding opportunity database. The position will track and coordinate limited submission programs, maintain internal documentation of funding sources and calendar of grant opportunities, identify and disseminate grant opportunities and manage internal research development funding opportunities.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am-5:00pm academic year, 7:30am-4:00pm summer hours/winter break hours

Advertised Salary: $45,000+/year - depending on experience & qualifications

Minimum Qualifications :
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 2 years minimum working in research administration office or in a grant funded center/program
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Microsoft Office experience (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
  • Demonstrated experience meeting project deadlines
  • Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously
  • Demonstrated experience preparing and coordinating meetings and events
  • Detail-oriented
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion

Preferred Qualifications :
  • Experience with university sponsored research processes
  • Demonstrated experience utilizing database applications
  • Demonstrated experience developing and managing budgets
