Job Details
The Information Technology Department provides technology tools and support to all employees of Alerus Financial. As part of the IT Development team, the Salesforce Developer's role is designing, maintaining, and programming within Alerus' technology platforms and systems with a core focus in Salesforce. This position applies standard programming procedures and knowledge of pertinent functional areas. Analyzes needs, designs, writes, and tests new programs, applications, and integrations. Maintains and revises existing systems and provides technical assistance to users and IT coworkers. To better identify needs and build a rapport with the employee base, this position will also provide technical support via phone, face-to-face and electronically.
Essential Responsibilities:
Job Function 1: Salesforce Development - 60%
- Responsible for design, development, documentation, and support of Salesforce applications and integrations.
- Monitor the operation of assigned applications and respond to problems by diagnosing and correcting errors in logic and coding.
- Review user requirements and needs for new software and perform analysis, design, implementation, installation, and training related to new software developed and/or acquired.
- Analyze systems based on consultations with management and/or staff. Document system plan and establishes an implementation schedule.
- Design and document systems & reports based on analysis results and further consultation with management and staff.
- Develop code, data storage, programs, reports, and procedures necessary to integrate and/or implement the system. Test system fully to determine its operational reliability.
- Document system for user department and IT per established standards.
- Assist user and operating areas to implement and support systems including installation, training, and troubleshooting.
- Carry out fact finding and program analysis of problems; apply established procedures to bring resolution.
- Provide technical advice and support to users. This includes creating ad-hoc reports, data analysis and correction, training and problem solving.
Job Function 2: Customer Support - 20%
- Provide on call escalation support.
- Provide after-hours support as required.
Job Function 3: Corporate Direction - 20%
- Actively participate as a project resource for IT/Corporate project management systems.
- Contribute to workload and tracking efforts as required.
Position Requirements:
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, MIS preferred or a combination of education and professional experience in a related field.
- A minimum of two years of development/programming in Salesforce is required (Certified Salesforce Platform Developer I preferred).
- Lightning Components, Aura Components, Apex, Visualforce, Java, JavaScript, REST, SOAP experience.
- Experience writing test classes and test methods to ensure code coverage.
- Experience with SFDX preferred.
- Solid understanding of and detailed experience with Salesforce.com architecture and API.
- Detailed experience writing Visualforce and Apex classes and triggers.
- Software engineering skills with Force.com Platform.
- Working knowledge of version control with Salesforce code and projects.
- Experience integrating Salesforce.com with other applications via real-time, batch, sync/async.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies.
- Flexibility with schedule as needed for support and maintenance needs.
- Salesforce Certified Administrator preferred.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.

Physical Demands - Must be met with or without a reasonable accommodation:
- Extended periods of time sitting at a desk and using office equipment.
- Ability to operate a personal computer/laptop for approximately 8 hours per day.
- Extended time is spent reviewing physical and electronic documents.
- The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
- Periodically, may also do light lifting of supplies and materials which weighs in at approximately 50 lbs.
- Will spend most of time in an indoor environment.
