Salary Range $15.06 - $19.48 per hour
This position is contingent on the availability of specific funding and may be subject to non-renewal following the 2022-23 school year based on the unavailability or uncertainty of funding. Internal staff that apply and are appointed to Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief Fund (ESSER) funded positions will be returned to a position similar to the one they vacated at the end of the prior school or fiscal year. Internal staff that backfill for a staff member that applied for and were appointed to an ESSER funded position will be returned to a position similar to the one they vacated at the end of the prior school or fiscal year.
Position Purpose: This position assists students in or outside the classroom. This is meant to be a rotating position that will help at risk student improve their academic skills. Students range from Grade K-5.
Responsibilities:
Provides academic support to individuals and small groups to prepare, advance, or remediate students in specific academic areas.
Assists students with homework; provides constructive feedback to students to build confidence.
Provides a clean, organized, and learning-conducive tutoring environment to ensure that students are encouraged to be productive, focused, and engaged in learning.
Maintains confidentiality of all records and conversations regarding students’ academic accomplishments and struggles.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required
Has met a rigorous standard of quality, which includes an assessment of reading, writing, and math.
Willingness to supervise students in the lunchroom and on the playground.
Ability to encourage, positively reinforce, and provide constructive feedback to students to build confidence.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience serving diverse populations.
Experience working with K-12 students.
