Primary Responsibilities:
  • Partner in the design, development and communication of technology patterns and standards needed to manage the Surest health plan design
  • Provide technical leadership to team of data engineers, through example, as a mentor and enabling team members
  • Solve complex issues within data development software, providing guidance and training within development projects
  • Support Agile development practices, including refining user stories and collaborating with product
  • Implement data processes focused on product requirements related to data storage and lifecycle, data processing, data accessibility and performance, and data security
  • Develop large scale, flexible data pipelines to efficiently process health care data supporting all aspects of a health plan
  • Work with peers across Bind to ensure data capabilities and software development lifecycle (SDLC) alignment

Required Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of solid SQL or NoSQL experience
  • 5+ years of experience designing and implementing efficient, end-to-end, flexible, data pipelines
  • 5+ years of experience with both batch and near real time data architectures
  • 3+ years PySpark, Python, and/or other programming language experience
  • Experience developing and implementing using parallel processing software strategies
  • Full COVID-19 vaccination is an essential job function of this role. Candidates located in states that mandate COVID-19 booster doses must also comply with those state requirements. Preferred Qualifications:
  • Degree in engineering, mathematics, computer science, software development, or other technical fields
  • Experience working with health care data
  • Experience working in the Agile Development Framework
  • Experience developing and operating Databricks
  • Experience integrating strategies for data pipeline data introspection at scale
  • Experience developing and operating Databricks jobs as data pipelines
  • Solid personal drive to continually evolve the current state to improve development efficiency, data quality and overall pipeline process improvement
  • Excellent software documentation skills
  • Unique balance of disciplined analytical thinking, creative passion, and a willingness to be hands-on
  • A passion for a data-driven culture
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Excellent teamwork skills, communication skills and ability to interact and influence across diverse groups of technical and non-technical people at all levels
  • Superior attention to detail

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $97,300 to $176,900. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $97,300 to $176,900. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
