Nico Products, Inc. is looking for someone with knowledge of pretreatment systems, hazardous waste regulations, OSHA regulations, state and county regulations, and bonus if you know about plating processes and equipment. (Supervisory experience preferred.)

Job Purpose/Responsibilities: Organizes assigned work, supervises, and assists employees in daily work performance. Anticipates workload, schedules, and personnel problems, and resolves problems to minimize their effect on Chemical Maintenance & Production. Maintains good housekeeping and enforces safe work practices.

Maintains wastewater pretreatment system; chemical/material inventory levels and purchasing; and hazardous waste storage to ensure state, federal, and county regulation and laws are met. Organizes assigns, and schedules employees' assignments. Anticipates issues, personnel problems, and resolves problems to minimize their effect on production. Maintains good housekeeping. Enforces adherence to laws, regulations, and safe work practices
  • Responsible for managing hazardous waste, chemical dump schedule, chemical addition, employees work schedules; assist in hiring & termination, and conduct and distribute disciplinary actions.
  • Develop training schedules for new & current employees and evaluate performance, including directing employees in appropriate duties to increase productivity
  • Establish objectives & goals for the department, and employees & cross-training employees to fill in for vacations or leaves of absence in the hazardous waste department
  • Responsible for maintaining compliance to Nico's Industrial Discharge Permit, Wastewater Pretreatment System (WWT) operations, inspection, and reports
  • Responsible for MCES industrial discharge permit applications, renewals, discharge monitoring reports, discharge sampling.
  • Maintaining chemical and material inventory levels and warehousing of incoming chemicals & materials
  • Implement continuous improvement activities, such as new chemicals, equipment, and processes, to reduce and increase productivity
  • Responsible for Hazardous Waste (RCRA) regulation, manifest management, Hennepin County Management Plan and Floor Plan, Hennepin County Process Flow Chart
  • Maintain documentation of chemical additions, transfers, tank dumps
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Job Specific Requirements:
  • A supervisor must have leadership skills to direct employees toward production goals
  • Written and verbal communication skills; ability to give clear instructions
  • Able to motivate, influence, and train people and maintain a regular and reliable attendance record
  • Assist with Technical Director in establishing employee objectives & goals to enhance productivity and advancement
  • Having a good eye for details to keep a check on all the activities of the organization
  • Organizational and leadership skills, good communicator, active listener, and strong decision-making skills
  • Knowledge of pretreatment system, hazardous waste regulation, OSHA regulation, state and county regulation, plating processes and equipment
  • Ability to manage multiple jobs and work independently without direction from management
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Fluency in reading, writing and speaking the English language
  • Ability to work independently without supervision
Shift: 1st shift, Monday - Friday (hours to be determined)

Pay Rate: $70,000 per year

(Reviews: 60 days and 6 months, then twice a year, that may come with a rate increase, providing the employee meets company and performance standards).

Signing Bonus: $5000 (current employees are not eligible for signing bonus)
