The Project Engineer is responsible for all technical and engineering aspects of their assigned projects. They plan, schedule, predict, and manage all the technical tasks of their assigned project to assure accuracy, proper resources, and quality from start to finish.

This role is part of the professional services department of the company. The goal of this department is to provide successful projects for a wide variety of customers ranging from small to enterprise level companies. The department is comprised of other engineers, a project manager, and a project manager assistant.

In this engineering role, the IT Project Engineer handles multiple projects within a fast-paced environment and is open to constant changes and challenges. This is an engaging, hands-on role that relies on good time management and superior customer service skills. This position requires the ability to be familiar with multiple projects at various stages of the project process and be proactive in ensuring they continue to move forward. The ideal candidate would be able to monitor multiple projects at once in the absence of day-to-day guidance.

Professional Services projects can include a wide range of different technology-focused improvements ranging from implementing Office 365 Exchange Online to replacing a server to upgrading a particular software.

TrueIT Expectations:
• Full-time work (expected 40 hours per week)
• Accurately track time spent on project
       o Expected to maintain 32+ billable hours each week
• Assist in creating SOWs that lead to successful projects
• Provide on time, on budget projects esuring happy clients
• Participate as an IT team member
• Adhere to and follow TrueIT standards and processes
• Providing Warm Fuzzies to clients through all communications

Engineering Expectations:
• Configure Window Servers and Active Directory with necessary troubleshooting and improvement related projects as well
• Configure Exchange and O365 tenants with necessary troubleshooting and improvement related projects as well
• Configure Azure servers and Azure AADS along with necessary troubleshooting and improvements
• Configure Microsoft Intune policies of varying degrees
• Efficiently use Powershell when projects call for it to save time and improve accuracy
• Firewall setup and configurations, specifically with Sonicwall and Cisco firewalls
• Switch setup and configurations, specifically HP, Unifi, and Cisco switches
• Configure a physical server host with SAN devices with redundancy of varying degrees
• Advanced understanding of DNS and how it affects network and servers
• Troubleshoot performance and network connectivity issues within a network
• Complete Office 365 migrations, troubleshooting, and setup
• Drive to learn and stay informed of emerging technologies

Operational Duties (Recurring Expectations):
• Own and aggressively drive projects from discovery to completion.
• Occasional travel onsite to client locations.
• Handle escalations from Service Desk team members
• Ability to lift 50lbs
• Perform after-hours on-call duties, per on-call rotation schedule
• Provide excellent customer service
• Implement projects while following all standards
• Aid all members in completing tasks as needed
• Enter time for each actioned project task daily
• Actively seek out opportunities to make suggestions to improve existing technical standards, procedures, and technology    implementations
• Write and edit technical documents as projects change the customer’s environment
• Participate in project scope meetings of potential future projects
• Be aware of all aspects of the scopes of work so proper assistance to the Project Manager can be provided
• Report to the Project Manager for all issues
• Work under time constraints to meet specific timelines
• Assist in the planning and implementation of projects
• Review current projects to keep workflow on track
• Monitor your current project hours
• Performing other duties assigned by the Project Manager in an orderly and efficient manner

• Must have 3+ years experience working for a Managed Service Provider
• Customer Service Experience
• Administrative Assistant Experience
• Strong aptitude to work within deadlines
• Integrity, honesty, and responsibility with a desire to contribute to a team
• Highly organized with attention to details
• Comprehensive understanding of customer service, principles, and practices
• Ability to work within a team or independently as needed
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
