Direct Support Professionals Starting Pay $14.00 per hour -$18.50 per hour for awake hours (Asleep $10.33-$13.00 per Hour)

A Direct Support Professionals (DSP) must possess basic problem solving skills, have a strong desire to help others, and the desire to improve the quality of life of the individuals they are working with. A DSP is responsible for following/implementing an individual’s plans, assist in activities of daily needs such as bathing, dressing, toileting, etc., assisting in instrumental activities of daily living such as shopping, food prep, laundry, etc., and medication administration. A DSP must have the ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing within the house as well as within the company departments and document in the necessary records. DSPs must also perform daily duties and responsibilities as assigned, such as but not limited to: housekeeping duties, household errands, appointments, shopping, and leisure activities. Each house can vary in the needs of each individual served.

Internal Investigator

The Investigator position serves as a key and collaborative member of a team that protects the individual’s we serve health, safety, welfare and rights. The DHI Internal Investigator position is full time located in Willmar, MN and is based at the DHI main office.

The purpose of this position, with limited supervision, is to thoroughly investigate complaints and allegations of maltreatment and/or staff misconduct contending violations of statutes and rules administered by the Minnesota Department of Human Services. This position also will investigate violations of Divine House, Inc. Policies and Procedures. Cases investigated involve complicated and complex fact patterns that allege violations of patient care protocols as well as violations of statutes and rules. This position will manage multiple investigations at once, prepare detailed case reports for DHI and MN DHS internal reviews.
Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

• Implementation of immediate and corrective action
• Investigate thoroughly complaints and allegations of misconduct
• Conduct interviews of witnesses, third parties, and the subjects of an investigation.
• Obtain, review, and analyze documents and other evidence including audio and video recordings.
• Prepare detailed reports summarizing investigative findings.
• Work in a team environment, collaborating effectively and productively.
• Assist in assessing and solving problems associated with functional and operational issues of the agency.
• Travel and overnights will be required

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• To facilitate proper crediting, please ensure that your resume clearly describes your investigative experience.
• Two-year degree in law enforcement, criminal justice, public safety, health care, health care auditing/investigations, social services or in a field related to the
work of the position; or
• Four (4) years professional experience in law enforcement, criminal justice, public safety, health care, health care auditing/investigations, social services or in a
field related to the work.

Preferred Qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s degree or higher in law enforcement, criminal justice, public safety, health care, health care auditing/investigations, social services or in a field
related to the work of the position.
• Knowledge and understanding of public safety and emergency medical services.
• Experience and knowledge of best investigative practices and techniques.
• Written communication skills sufficient to compose clear, concise, error-free, and understandable narratives and presentations that communicate complicated issues.
• Proficiency in Microsoft applications.
• Knowledge of the structure and organization of local and state government.
• Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team with colleagues of diverse backgrounds.

Mental Health Practitioner
New Directions, under the supervision of Knutson Counseling and Seminars, is seeking full-time Mental Health Practitioners, Workers, and Certified Peer Support Specialists to work with adults with mental health disabilities. Hours are flexible, but generally Monday-Friday 8-5. Applicants must be at least 21 years old, have a valid drivers license & insured vehicle, and pass a background check. Excellent computer skills, verbal & written communication, and knowledge of mental health rehabilitation techniques are a must.

Mental Health Practitioners must have an associate of arts degree, two years of full-time postsecondary education, or a total of 15 semester hours or 23 quarter hours in behavioral sciences or related fields; is a registered nurse, or within the previous 10 years has one of the following:
• Three years personal life experience with serious and persistent mental illness
• Three years personal life experience as primary caregiver to an adult with a serious mental illness, traumatic brain injury, substance use disorder, or developmental disability or
• 2000 hours supervised paid work experience in the delivery of mental health services to adults with a serious mental illness or brain injury

Individuals who do not fully meet these requirement, may apply as a Mental Health Worker. MHW’s receive direct on-site observation until the above qualifications for Practitioner are met.

Certified Peer Support Specialist must have successfully completed the DHS-approved Certified Peer Specialist training, passed the certification exam, and have experienced mental health stability for a period of two or more years.

The position will provide guidance to individuals related to skill development, socialization, and integration into the community along with developing support plans.
