Position Objective:

Primary Responsibilities:

Design electrical systems for machine projects
Select and implement hardware to meet project requirements
Serve as the Electrical Design Lead on projects
Understand and conform to applicable code and standard including Aagard standards, customer specifications, UL, NFPA, industry Standards, and safety standards
Provide feedback and support on Aagard's process and standards for continuous improvement
Problem solving and solution recommendation
Provide engineering support to customers
Support the testing and installation of equipment
Provide training for internal and external customers
Provide support to the manufacturing floor and Customer Technical Service department
Assist in the evaluation of new products
Assist in the development and maintenance of Aagard's standards
Follow safe work practices
Recommend and implement best practices to increase efficiency and reduce costs
Communicate openly, share knowledge, build positive collaboration between departments and team members
Support and contribute to department and company metrics
Be actively engaged in continuous improvement projects and culture

General Responsibilities:

Adhere to, support and promote the Aagard vision and culture statements
Demonstrate professional, respectful interaction with other team members
Accurately and professionally represent Aagard to customers and vendors
Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics or related field or equivalent combination of education and/or experience
Expertise in machine safety programs and safety categories
Knowledge of machine programming practices
Mechanical, controls, and electrical system knowledge
Knowledge of electrical and electronic components
Experience using Electrical CAD software to develop and detail electrical designs
Previous experience with AutoCAD Electrical preferred
Knowledge of electrical components and pneumatic schematics
Experience with PCs, Servos, and PLCs
Experience with Microsoft Office products
Ability to visualize concepts
Ability to accept assignment broad in nature
Ability to work under minimal supervision
Strong time management and organizational skills
Ability to communicate with a variety of people both verbally and in writing, including presentation skills
Self-starter, creative and problem solver
Ability to apply statistical tools to get to the root cause

Ability to work independently and execute a plan
Ability to travel up to 20% of the time
